Earlier I replaced the offside caliper on our 2011 500 T/A and the caliper I got didn't have the bracket for the pad wiring plug. Nor was there a threaded hole. So, l got creative with some double cable ties I had...

As long as there is no other more serious differences between the two calipers.
 
Turns out it was different which I completely missed in my haste to get it sorted.

It was, in fact slightly wider for a vented disc.

Rest assured, the correct one has now been fitted.

And I hang my head in shame.

All through my working life I've been willing to hold my hands up when I've messed up.
Always the best option I find.
Bullshitters soon get caught out.
I recall how embarrassed I was a day after starting a new job and having to go to the foreman who had the boss standing beside him, to explain I had just snapped a bolt on a job.:(
