Looking for any advice on supplier and/or makes.

My 2008 1.4 is with discs. Idle moment of buy now and get the use, or hang on, life in the old girl yet. I wasn't on a dating site, I don't think 🤔.

In a nutshell. What to avoid and are all the made in China the same.

Is the Ka version a direct swap?

Thank and season's greetings.

A few 100hp Pandas with rear discs have had new from IM Axles

Might be worth enquiring if they do an axle for the disc braked 500?

I think they've recently started doing them for the 169 Panda, but it's different to the 500 (slightly narrower and no ARB)

The axle for drum braked 500s is the same as 312/319 Pandas and Ford Ka.

Drum brake axles have been fitted to 169s with discs, with a slot cut for ABS sensor. 500 might need the same?

IM has a mention on the 500 and does do a disc version.

I seem to recall a fitting adjustment required, maybe involving washers for spacers?

Thanks for your input.

Thanks.

IM do a disc version. Seem to recall a fitting issue needed adjusting with a spacer.

Anyway, not yet urgent.

I used the IM supplied version, no issues for a competent fitter, had to use some washers on one lower shock mount(too wide) .
I'd expect to need to replace the brake pipes and flexibles consider new calipers and new hand brake cables noting they maybe different lengths as on the drum version, new shocks and springs?
Before doing much check the condition of the sills, our 09 car failed on holes in the sills, had them welded up but welder thinks just this one more year?

Thanks. The add-ons are common to all. But what I'm looking at is why one supplier or another.
IM also trading as Mainline asking £190. D2P at £145 and RTG at £135. All UK businesses.

Interesting none manufacture in UK. A Fiat original is £225 made in Italy.

Hello i had the same issue on my wife's 2012 500 rear beam around base of springs corroded I welded it as I am a coded welder however the test centre insisted it would not pass. So I bought an axle from IM Axles and swapped it over with the help of a friend it took about 5 hours between us. Had to pack passenger side lower shock absorber with a few washers and then found that the spring rubbed on the cup where the spring sits almost as if the cup diameter was to tight for said spring. Overall happy with product other than these couple of things.

Strange, we see quite a few of these on 169 Pandas
But not 312 & 319 of similar age
Design was changed, later axles possibly stronger and better built?
But feedback from buyers of IM Axles seems generally positive
I think @John202020 has one on a drum braked 500
It certainly appears that way. Maybe they have just changed the grade of steel used or supplier. Our 319s appear tom be considerably less rusty. I cant see anything that would obviously make a difference.

Useful post for future reference thanks
