Repairing shallow gouges in the paintwork.

Hello all. Could someone please tell me how to repair small gouge marks roughly 1.5mm deep and about 4 to 5 inches long. I was behind a truck moving rocks and soil this morning when a rock slightly larger than a tennis ball fell off the back of it.It caught the bodywork on the underside just in front of front left wheel.Its only a small bit of damage but I would like to sort it myself.I have not got any idea how to fix it.

Write down the lorry's registration down and find who they work for )Police) and then claim off them to get it repaired, things shouldn't fall of the back of lorries. LOL

I was too busy dodging rocks and soiling myself to get the number....

could try getting a scratch kit from halfords and build up base layers with primer before paint (might improve the look somewhat)

Was told by the local motor factors that I would not be able to get the red of my Fiat in a spraycan just brush on. Is he winding me up or is it true?
