I've got a 1.8 and my rear box fell off and the sound was ace after the engine warmed up. I wanted to keep it like it was but i was abit weary about the hot exhaust gases escaping under my petrol tank and underbody protection. I went to a place that did performance exhausts and asked them if they could weld on a piece of pipe to the back of the car and weld a tail piece on, but he wanted £75, NO WAY i thought.
Anyway, i went for this, a standard exhaust for my car cost me £100 fitted.
It goes from the Cat back on the HLX. Theres 3 Boxes from the Cat back. All three need to be replaced.
If your exhaust sounds like something pinking, then if you look under your car behind the rear silencer theres a shield there, rip it off and the pinking will stop. Mine corroded and was very flimsy and bounced on the exhaust at a specific rev.
