D; so i cant run punt gt discs with cinq calipers? (and still have the option of running 13's, or will they fit if i stick to 14's?) and is there much advantage compared to just say red dot drilled/grooved discs with red dot pads (all cinq kit)

cheers v much for your help as am easily lost here :p

Correct, you cannot run Punto GT discs and Cinq calipers. The calipers are all of a closed back design, so they won't go round the Punto disc.

I decided that I wanted vented discs. I bought a set of Punto discs and calipers. They fitted perfectly without modification, but I could not get my 13 inch wheels over them. I could not get 14 inch off road tyres in a low enough profile, so I looked at the alternatives, hence the Uno tubo set up on the car.

Remember through all of this that I used the car off road and I go through brakes at a furious rate. I have never fitted 'fast road' kit like your talking about. I went for the best basic set up I could get so that I could buy replacement discs over the counter at my local factors without having to go to a specialist, or wait for mail order

I think I have different priorities when it come to choosing.

Cheers

was about to say that too heh,
basically i just need something that'll stop my 1242 a bit more pronto than it does at the moment (at the mo im running std discs and greenstuff pads) as at the mo the car is underbraking for std engine, let alone the 1242

edit: oh and its not crucial that they fit under 13's but is preferable as i'd rather burn off std size tyres in form of nankangs or something rather than expensive low profile 14" tyres :p

alex arent you're wheels 14" anyway?

i think my next brakes, i'l look into uno brakes - driving enthusiasticly on roads round here we've had a punto with glowing discs, a corsa with glowing discs, cooked completely the standard brakes of a feista and also overheated the std brakes on a sei.

I looked all over for vented cinq discs!

well am thinking i'd like the option of putting 13's on for the drag strip, save me burnin away my precious low profile 14's (when i get 'em  ) i might just throw on some red dot drilled/grooved discs with matching pads at end of month (y)

If they were too wode then they wouldn't fit, they may not be the exact same but vented they are and Cinq/Sei Sporting fitment was bought. £65.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, much appreciated. I'm not planning on chucking loads of money into my Cinq so I don't think I'll be putting my turbo engine in it after all. Although one of my friends does banger racing and he's done quite a few engine conversions and I know somewhere that'll make me some cheap driveshafts up so you never know, maybe in the summer.

Anyway a couple more questions.

Where can I get a GSR induction kit and a mckrich chip from?

Will the rear brakes from my Uno fit? I'd have a look myself but I've not got my Cinq yet.

And what's the best exhaust to get for it?
