I'm all the way from SOUTH Africa and very excited to have come across the Fiat Forum.
I urgently seek advise and guidance on my Doblo.
Just a bit of background, the vechile has been prompt with all its services and has a 148 000 km clock.
I recently experienced a mechanical problem.
The vechile cut out while taking off, and it seemed to me that the Diesel Pump was the issue.
I towed the vechile to a Fiat Service centre and they done a full diagnostic and said it was the Diesel pump.
This ws when things did not start to add up, i asked them if they tested the pump and they said No it just came up as an error code on the diagnostic report.
They refused to do further testing and ws adamant to have the pump replaced.
So I manage to track down a company that specialists in diesel pumps.
After they tested my pump, they confirmed that the pump was 100% working and they suspected the camshaft to be damaged. On further investigation it was the camshaft that had broken.
Please can you advise what would cause the camfhaft to break? ( please see Picture uploaded)
Also the specialists mechanic has advised that he want to check and make sure all the valves are 100% as this could also could be damaged.
Please can I get assistance to make sure that I check and replace all the correct parts as it seems as though people are out to make a quick buck and milk you for their benefits.
Any assistance will be highly appreciated
