rattle when cold

hi guys i get a rattle noise from engine when the car is cold,just had service so got new plugs and oil etc,also had new aux belt fitted so it cant be that,the noise speeds up etc when i press excelerater and goes away once car is warmed up,cam belt was only done 6 months ago,its a 1.4 sx r reg,52000 miles on clock,any idea's??

I have a similar thing, more of a whirring noise though

I'm pretty nervous as my cambelt hasn't been done yet...

I have the same rattling on a 1.2 sx 29k from cold only. If others have cured this or know its nothing to worry about let us know.

its ur clutch or gearbox. when it does it put u clutch in see if it stops

cambelt... do it asap!!

hey just wanted to say to the guy who hasnt got his cambelt done - if u rover 50k and havent had it done DO IT ASAP - or you'll be looking at a massive bill if not a write off if u dont - i work in a garage part time - learning fromt he bottom up + this guy came in all cock y- yeah i had it done... he hadnt - next week was back with £1500 worth of damage - isnt worth it!!!

It's done 42k so I'm saving up for a month or two (I only do about 4k a year!)

you should get cam belt done really after 50,000 miles,mine cost 110 pound for 1.4sx,anyway does any body else have thoughts on this rattle noise when engine is cold,it does'nt stop when clutch is in,and when u rev engine it gets louder,its not my aux belt as ive done that already,any ideas???
