Alfa GT JTD sluggish when cold

I have just had a 34k service by Gonnella in Catford. Perfect acceleration before the service, though error messages on dispaly. Engine now sluggish on starting, even no power to take me over 25mph uphill, then goes as normal if I start engine again. Mechanic says he replaced the computer and refitted the EGR valve when I returned the car. Do I get him to put the old 'computer' back/ get a new battery? I am new to this site having replaced my Brava TD with the above, and no current access to post on Alfa site.

What was the reason of the ECU replacement ?
Let him put in the old one and try, could be that you bought a remaped car, or the new ECU aint 100% the right one.

Could be a dodgy EGR??

Be careful with the windows in this weather (ice), I notice mine freeze shut and I imagine it doesn't do it any favours trying to rag the door open with the window still up.
