If it's the standard Visteon radio, the Mxxxxxx serial will be on a label stuck on the radio. You will need to remove the radio to see it.

Having time now to look at my radio. How do I extract it from the dash? There are 4 holes, 1 at each corner. Is there any house hold items I can use?

Four pieces of wire coat hanger, or 2 pieces bent into a U shape.

Wrestled with 4 coat hangers but the dash wouldn't let go! Will maybe call into a radio specialist to get it removed.

the catches are on the SIDE of the units casing ;

slowly feed the wire into the 4 x holes feeling for a "tight" point ( probaly against the catch)

then push the 2 x wires outwards ( towards car doors)

and firmly tug a little on the unit.. it's not unusual for only 1 edge to move at 1st

keep jiggling.. it SHOULD come out..,

just a quick note I specialise I fixing the fiat dual logic gearboxes and the actuators I have recently had the seals made to repair them and also specialise in the electric power steering units I do all of them £280 fitted and a 2 year warranty the early puntos are £200 fitted warrantied
