General Question

As ive stated in a previous thread i have the original current tape deck unit in my mrk2 sporting but further down in the console i have the standard 5disc in dash changer.

Im planning on taking both out and replacing with a new ipod compatible hu anyway when i take the cd changer out that will surely leave a gap do you know where i can get "a pannel that will cover up that hole" maybe from halfords etc or a breakers yard?

You can get many things that fit into a standard single DIN slot (thats what it is where your cd changer is). Ive seen cup holders, coin trays. . etc.. have a look on ebay, dosent have to be a fiat part the size of the slot is standard

i made my own panel for this, clear perspex cut to size (by hand) to a rather good fit (with curved corners)

i have put a 3.5mm jack to plug an mp3 player/ipod in (as my lead runs out of the back of my HU) and a jack for a screen (the HU also plays dvd's) i also plan on putting a 3.5" screen on the other side

its tinted black so when in place it just looks glossy black but when the screen is on, it will show through nicely
