When changing my brakes pads and discs the other day, one of my guide pins was poorly aligned with the hole and when tightening it I noticed some metal being forced from somewhere.

When I noticed, I stopped and re-adjusted and was able to tighten it down to the right torque.

However, I'm guessing I've damaged some threads? If so, will it have been from the mounting hole on the car or the cheaper to replace guide pin?

Do I need to worry about this?
