Put sub in house????

hi, just wondering weather it was possbile?

The only thing that concerns me is the power, how would i connect it??
I thought i could wire a plug that gives 12v output to the amp connections, then in parallel add a wire with a switch in to the remote wire.




Can i get enough power to run a 400W amp from the mains?

It must be a big house to fit a submarine in. I think most use nuclear reactors nowadys - 12 volts won't cut it!

I dont think a normal run-of-the-mill transformer will cut it As for taking a parallel feed off the main voltage line for the amp remote - you'd need to use a large current limiting resistor otherwise you'd blow the amp

well personally i would go and ask halfords, they seem to run alot of car stereos and amps in there shop.

or buy a pc one...... mines awesome enough to get a glass of water ripling (like jurasic park) wasonly £90 aswell and its 5.1 surround-sound

I would think a car sub would take more amps than a typical 12v transformer can kick out. Remember these things usually power items that can also run on a few D cell batteries.

If you really really wanted to have one in the house, get a decent car battery and run the amp off that. And use a car battery charger to recharge the battery when its nearly dead

you probably could but they are not likely to be for constant use, and that one on ebay is a bit expensive!

Ive done this before (i was a skint student )

Just used abattery charger. Would shut off when on too loud but bugger me it was loud!

just get a proper sub or a sound set up for your pc.i have a creative 7.1 set up with a huuuuuge sub that can shake the room
