Punto wipers

Punto 2 X reg.Wipers work fine on both "normal"and "fast" speeds,but on intermittent wipe and when switching off,they judder across the screen,with a lot of "clicking" coming from column switch area(sounds like a relay?)Washers and rear wash/wipe fine too.
Any ideas?

Re wipers

Every time I've had some problem with the intermittant wiper on any of my cars that i've had I have found that buying a replacement wiper stalk cured it (usually secondhand from one of those off the shelf car dismantlers).

There is a service bulletin at the dealers with this fault. Basically, the grease in the motor / linkage hardens up and slips off. Go to your dealer and get them to strip & regrease.
