whats the gerneral concensus with these?
I got rid of my 55sx for an escort with cvt box and i must say it was shockingly bad, i believe it was voted the worts auto box EVER.
Now i'm looking for a 2nd car for the missis i wouldnt mind having another punto myself, but seeing as the clutch upsets my back i need an auto, so opinions please

there fine aslong as the one your looking at does not clunk from drive to reverse this shows the bearing in the electric clutch is draging this is not to bigger problem actually it just means the syncros for drive reverse may wear quickly but i have known people to carry on driving like this for many years but certainly something i would avoid

as far as driving is concerned the fiat or should i say subau cvt box in the mk1 is fine very pleasant drive last time i drove one

also things to remember there is a switch on the throttle to tell it to creep you can here it as you lay your foot on the pedal clicking

otherwise the car will remain stationary

when you driving one always remove your foot completly from the pedal before changing rom drive to reverse

otherwise you will wear the syncros in a similar fashion to the first fault i spoke of as the car is trying to creep wile you change

mk2 punto auto is a nissan box the ecvt more reliable than the mk1s but if anything does go wrong more expensive to fix and more technical to diagnose

lol more like 60k miles anyway it's only a bearing that you need to buy the hole clutch assembly at 800 quid to get hold of

or get onebfrom subaru much cheaper it's the same as a subaru justy
