Hi all,
My reserve tank light comes on the dail cluster when i got one bar under 1/4 tank is this normall??? its a bit soon isnt it lol

BTW i have a mk2 1.2l 8v mpi

I know there isnt a blockage or all crap buliding up in fuel tank cos i drove with the light on about 70 mile ish and the dial has gone from 1/4 tank to just above the orange bar right at the bottom to say its empty so just a little bit of fuel left:eek: gonna have to fill up lol

So i know that the dial works and the light goes off as soon as i put petrol in to the 1/4 tank mark. just bwondering when others reserve light comes on

Cheers

Its not a "reserve tank" as such, more an advisory that you need to re-fuel. Ignore it if you wish but why? Just re-fuel when it lights up & you dont look like a tool walking to the nearest garage with a plastic can in your hand... :p

Mine comes on just below quarter mark, can get more miles but fill it up when the light comes on and you never have any worry of crap getting in then. Although doing that ALL the time surely you'll get more n more dirt overtime, whereas run it dry when the tank is clean everytime all you'll never have any dirt to get in ever :S

right so i filled up with petrol a bit ago from what was practically empty tank on the bottom orange bar and it filled after £50.

Anyway on the way home i noticed that normally wen i go over speed bumps i have to slow to like 10mph and even then my car hits the speed bump harshly and its a bit ruff and bumpy because i hve 50mm lowering springs on but after filling up with petrol i didnt notice the speed bump and went of it at 20-25mph and it was soooooo smooth goin over the bump, then i tryed the next one at 10mph still smooth why has it gone smooth all a sudden yestaday it was ruff lol now its smooth at any speed over speed bumps????

i mean it glides over bumps as if ther no ther now much better before it hit the bumps as if you had just driven into a wall lol now its normall, handles bumps like a normal car

I had springs from december on the car surely they settled ages ago

More weight in the car - better sprung to unsprung ratio. 50 litres weighs about 40kg.

Or some fuel spilled on the suspension rubbers and smoothed them out. :D

lol but i habve had a full tank before i fill it to full every 2 weeks and i never noticed before lol

il just have to get some fat lasses in back lol
