Punto MK2 Alarm works but with no sound.

Hiya all,

Basically my factory fitted alarm arms, disarms and even goes off (lights flashing) but I've seemed to have lost all sound. Does not beep when armed/disarmed or does not sound when set off.

Im hoping its just a fuse of some sort? Haven't got my manual to check any feedback or ideas?

I suspect that a separate fuse is not involved. If I remember correctly the alarm unit/sounder head is installed underneath the windscreeen behind the scuttle covers that shield the wiper motor and allow air into the heater/ventilation system.

Suggest you have a look here first. The 'head unit' may contain a backup battery that has reached end of life and/or water/damp and corrosion has finally penetrated the unit.

Also the connector(s) may have become likewise contaminated.
