Anyone who knows where to get the CV joints for the propshaft?

Did a lot of searching and found a Meyle part number that was supposed to fit, then found them at German Autodoc. Turns out they look exactly the same but are way too big. Apparently they fit the classic Panda 4x4. 😒

Thx in advance

Is it worth it

The whole propshaft isn't that expensive

Double check but I think the later post 2012 shafts are the same if you want to go down the secondhand route

As far as I remember they aren't that serious serviceable except for the centre bearing

I have to look through my old posts, and I am out and about at the moment

The CVs are super easy to take off. Already had them off twice. They are like € 35-40 each, and a new prop is € 480 plus shipping.

Less than £200 with free delivery, plenty around the £250 mark, china sell them at a fraction over $100 but there will be postage, import tax and so on

Drive shaft coupling is

https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/oenumber/55222107.html

are £40-50 each by the time you add in the centre bearing and still have the old U/J

I doubt there will be a proper fiat part number as its not normally sold separately

Try googling 1427J0152 ridex part number

So close... The propshaft CVs have 22 teeth
Problem with buying a new prop is that even though I would buy a cheap I have minimum €100 shipping. Used props are all above €400 at the salvage yards.

Photo shows 20 splines

Everyone list the propeller shaft coupling as

20 SPLINES
86MM OUTSIDE DIAMETER.
24MM WIDTH

For the 169 4x4 2003 onwards

Update to the story.
Asked the same question in an FB group and after a while I got a reply from a Polish guy who said he had the same problem and after a lot of research he found this CV joint from a Cadillac and it has exactly the same spec as my joints! I googled further and figured out that the same CV was used for a while within the Volvo 400 series. So I called a CV joints distributor here (they do nothing else but CV joints) and they just laughed and said NO car brand except VW keep tracks of the correct CVs and spline count. It is apparently common that brands change CVs, shafts, spline count in the middle of a production. Money talks...
He emphasized, there's only one car brand with reliable CV specs and that is VW as they have part numbers on joints even if they are sold as complete drive shaft units.

Now I have a Slovenian guy in the same FB discussion that will look up a complete shaft for me next week. His shafts can be split in half and by doing that the shipping might not be too bad.

On the other hand, the propshaft I have is also a split shaft. Nut inside the cardan joint and even a grease port for the cardan joint. If the shipping is too much I still have the option to get Euro Parts joints, which are quite good joints. And replacing the mid bearing and cleaning up the cardan joint is a pretty easy job.

I'm still not sure if this is an OEM shaft or if it's replaced somewhere in time. Who knows...

All the propeller shafts split in the middle to replace the centre bearing

Including 3rd party ones

Same shaft is used for the post 2012 as well

Doesn't look like a fiat panda one to me they are I believe made by GKN

Yours is possibly this brand like this

Or similar

I've been buying spare parts for more than 30 years and I have never ever heard the name Alvadi. Like all the other continental webshops, the shipping adds up.
I checked that site, the same part but from a Swedish IP address, 270 GBP.
Cheapest shipping 70 GBP.

I have good European manufactured CVs and a new center bearing delivered at 116 GBP. A new kardan cross with bearings and cups is another 15-20.
I honestly will stick to my original plan.

Thanks to a Polish guy in an FB group who had exactly the same problem, we figured out that the CVs match a few Cadillac, Land Rover and Volvo shafts. Easy peasy, I now have everything to completely renovate the propshaft. Good parts for less than half of a no-name prop. The CVs are a tad tight on the splines but with a touch of a dremel disc on the ridges they fit perfectly.
Everything ordered from Europarts (PL), very fast on sending everything.
