chaps as you know i purchased a new rat wagon, which has be named no frills LOL.

this is modding on a extremely tight budget of 1k, incl buying the car but not incl servicing or cambelt.

so far i have spent.

car £425
5" back box £22.53
clear side reapeters £7.50

total so far £455.03

so that leaves £545 left to spend.

plans are to keep it on the road till end of Feb (tax runs out) and work out what i think is knackered in that time. Then it will stay on the drive till the end of april while i build it up... ready in time for Brooklands in May?

i also have a few bits that i have had left over from the last rat's these include:

A pillar double gauge pod
Splitfire vacuum and volt gauges
320mm flat bottom steering wheel.

i am sure there are a few more bits that i have in the shed.

in march i will be tackling the suspension as and when i get time (3 children under the age of 5 and working long hours will slow me down LOL)

once on axle stands i will replace the lower arms, droplinks and Ball joints to tighten it all up once again, and also strip the suspension off for a clean and re-paint if shocks are shot they will be replaced, and then all fitted back together with some extra low -60mm front springs and -50mm back springs.

At the same time i will be giving the standard wheels a coat of gloss black to tidy them up.

Next up i will be cleaning everything, i am aiming to take the bumpers off, and lights and clean everywhere incl engine and then maybe polish up the rocker cover whilst under there i will be fitting one of my homebrew induction kits (will and Andy ;)).

i will then scoot under the car to replace the exhuast systems with a straight through pipe and my 5" rolled out back box.

while i am under "No Frills" i will start giving it a good clean.

i will then mop the bodywork and get it as shiny as possible and remove as many scratches as possible.

I will also be painting the roof rails and back light surrounds gloss black or matt black haven't decided yet.

hopefully if there is enough money in the kitty i will be fitting hid's and fitting halo fog lamps.

I will also hopefully be fitting my front splitter (from another make will let you have the guess's as to what i have got).

once all done and back on the road it will hopefully be going off to Power Italia where Rog casn work his magic on the cambelt and if i can stretch the kitty may even chuck on some 3g grooved discs all round.

Then getting back in the inside, i will be fitting my a pillar and gauges and steering wheel, i will also be replacing the drivers seat with some kind of bucket seat.

This project is also be helped by my 4 1/2 year old Daughter which cant wait to help on it, she will also be coming to brooklands as she loves cars and wants to come with her daddy to a car show.

Thank you for all your help over the years guys especially to roberto,andy_sx,Wimmy,Andyb76,Will_atf & stephend.

cheers

What makes you want 3G discs Robin?

I've managed to get some yellow stuff pads at a very good price for the coop but am trying to suss the suitable discs that could accompany them on a mild track session.

Brands I'm thinking of is either Brembo Max, 3G or Tarox. I'm leaning to 3G but was wondering what your motivation was for mentioning them?

Depending on what pads you're getting, I might be able to point you in cheap direction for EBC pads down the line.

Insy, I had them on rat 1 mated with mintex extreme pads, I got then as Rog at power italia highly recomended them, also they are Brembo discs they even have it engraved into them. And if you buy direct they waved my delivery charge. I paid £74 delivered for the rear discs and £ 149 for the fronts delivered. The mintex extreme pads were £60 quidfor the fronts and £40 for the rears if memory serves me. They were brilliant the only downside is there was some disc squeel due to the grooves but I could put up
with that. Insy can you email me about the pads as I need to replace the rears soon.

Cheers

Come on Robin pull ya finger out mate...pics...pics..

Just finnished painting all the brake calipers, drop links and wishbones ready to go on the 130 JTD.
Wife won't let me lower it and fit 17's oh and she doesn't want blacked out windows.

Women ehh...??? She'll get blacked out windows weather she likes it or not!!

Well took no frills for. Propa blast today, and gotta say it is well tight, lower arms seem fine. Drop links may need doing though, and man it flies, thereis something about the 147 it has so much more poke than the 150. Been stood 2 weeks And started first time!

Ordered some more bits, got a induction kit coming:) an orders some crazy looking bulbs as they were very cheap.

Decided to get a new steering wheel And sell the one I have.

It is now officially off the road and sorn so the strip clean And rebuild will commence also gonna phone rog tomorrow to get it booked in for the cambelt in April, by then it should be dropped, mopped and ready for a blast, just need it to warm up a bitso I can get started on it, most of the bits I take off will be detailed in my living room and put back on.

I got my induction kit for £ 11.90 and
my new bulbs for £ 3.95 so still got a good £530 still to go, may even save a couple hundred quid to put towards next years spend.

As soon as the strip starts I will start taking pics and posting them up.

Cheers

Interesting developments have occured this weekend and there is a distinct possibility I'll be parting company with my beloved Coupe. As I still have the original chip from the ecu, I'll be taking out the FCP one so that will be up for sale if you want it Robin.

If you're interested, I'll reserve it for you. (I'll email you the price ;)
