General Project mk1 going good

Alright Rob.

I knew I was on the right tracks spraying wheels black!

It's a bit two-tone with the old school graphics and dk.grey bumpers, so could well work?

As for the doors, you gonna take the pair off me hands for £45 quid? If so I'll take the motors etc... out of the doors on the black ones as spares for ya. Black ones are both rusted through at the bottom - not any good for a decent resto like yours. If they ain't good enough for mine, definetly ain't good enough for yours!

Good luck. Delocking looking good. Uno's coming along pretty quick!

I dunno about them wheels mate im just not 100% with the black idea, and yes all thanks to me getting all my parts cheap from you have moved my car forwards in a short space of time it's starting to look great.
I want your doors off you but ill have a good look at them when your back from london and sort out a deal.
Just been spraying over my boot lock and doing the final filling to ensure it's 100% flat.. A few more pic's for ya...

Yeah im well pleased with the out come so far, the tail gate will look better when the thing is sprayed and the plate and turbo badge is on...
Badge should be here soon i hope.. Nice rare anti slid badge... :D

Well after so many of you going on about the mk2 rear bumper on the mk1 i decided to take a trip down my local scrap yard...
After searching for an hour i found 1 uno in the whole yard, and just by pure luck it was a mk2, and the rear bumper was like brand new, so i just couldnt resist it and for only £5 it would be wrong to say no.. :D
Prob fit it at the weekend :)

Dont mask of the graphics and paint around them.

I still say black wheels will look nice.

Good job on the boot handle.

Dont put a red strip in the grove on the bumper, make sure you do a good job on cutting the rear bumper to fit the exhaust.

A graphics place should be able to do them, i have a friend who should be able to do them he will just need a template.

You could try masking a piece of a4 paper over the Turbo i.e. part on the rear 1/4 and rub a crayon over it and see if you can get a slight outline if so then draw around it and then transfer what you have to a plain bit and use that for a template.

Sounds a mess around but if it works then its worth doing.

If i was near by i would give it a go but im not.

Rob, your UT is looking so nice! My Uno 45 could look like that if I had the time to work on it :bang:

Wheels - Personally I'm not a fan of black wheels, but I also think they don't suit the mk1. They'd look better on a mk2, though silver wheels are more oldskool kool and much more appropriate for the mk1 (y)

Not sure on the mk2 bumper on a mk1. Wonder if it might look a little strange when looking at the car side on? No harm in fitting it and seeing! And no to the red bumper insert. It will look wrong unless you fit the sideskirts from a mk2.

All in your car is looking super. Keep the mods subtle and let the mk1 charm shine through

Rob i got access to vinyl cutting machines and equipment etc at work, i'd be happy to try and make some for ya if you like, just need an image to work from as mentioned by goldie punto.

Thanks mate, all this hard work and scrapped knuckles has paid off at last, shame i put all these new bits on because i now have to take the whole lot off again....
When i remove the rear bumper on saturday ill just hang the mk2 bumper on there and take a few pic's see what you think.
As for the wheels i still like the silver, but......there's summit about that one black wheel against the side graphic, looks kinda old skool cool i dunno maybe some one cud do a photo shop of my car but with the blades black..:D

Hey buddy, you getting a twin piston??

Not 100% sure mate it came off dunc's uno as he bought a silver one now, worked ok on his so should be ok on mine i hope...
****ing royal mail are crap nothing in the post today so i hopeing it will arrive tomoz...

Good luck to ya matey. If you need a drop of help with it, don't hesitate to pop me an email at [email protected] or post up on the forum. The, er... fallace-shaped hose exit on the right hand side has a small hole. You'll need to saw off the bell and then increase the hole down the bottom to maximise airflow, otherwise a very weak "tsh" will represen boost blockage.
