thanks for all the comments..apologies to vernon i should have come clean and told him i had already signed up....just wasn't too sure how you lot would feel about a mere woman joining in your banter.
as vernon knows i have owned pandas in the past and i just love them. i am fed up with problems with the engine management systems on newer cars and wanted to go back to a car with a proper engine and a panda seemed the obvious choice.
i had no idea just how many other people seem to share my passion for them.....so well done all of you for saving this endangered species.

Hi and welcome

Don't worry, you'll get the hang of this section. It takes a little while to get used to the madness - just go with it, and you'll soon feel at home!

I'm glad you're getting a proper job done on the Panda - we will need before pictures please, so we can see what Vernon's actually doing. He does, of course, need to finish something black/white & Panda shaped before taking on too many big projects....... (y)

As an owner of my own version of "bucket" , where can I find Dragon Man's picture? I want to see what is "straightforward" welding, and see how it compares to her holiness Belladonna.

Welcome Pandawoman. Great name as already said above. Don't worry - from what I have seen the banter here is frequently very silly but not too blokey and never sexist.
I will watch bucket's progress in the capable hands of Vern with great interest.

Thats the modern mk 4..

this is a picture of the mk 2 in question:

Er, sorry to get your hopes up

I wouldn't worry about names sticking, the guys at work have called my 500c the 'mini skip'. They are only jealous lol. I think it adds character :-D

Exactly! It's amazing how much space a Panda takes up when you take it apart and spread it out, let alone two.

Ok, dragged myself out into the cold wet afternoon and off to the workshop just so that you lot could have your pics. You owe me a Lemsip. ;)

Worst door is on the drivers side fortunately as I only have skins for the passenger side. Otherwise it is pretty solid but no doubt the acid bath will confirm that.
