To be fair, there wasn't an awful lot wrong with the car, just that it was worth more in bits that in one piece - 1242 engine, 'box, loom, ecu and driveshafts cost me £200.

Just updated the website having taken the 'head off the cinq today. Anyone not familiar with what a blown head gasket looks like may well be interested in this.

The injector on your Cinq is yellow, mines is orange, can't remembe the significance of the different colours so hopefully someone will pop up with the answer.

Cheers Liam, as far as i'm aware the cinq is boggo standard, so i'd be interested to know if the colour is significant... anyone?

Had the cheque book out... orders placed for roll cage, brakes, steering wheel and various other bits for the project 500 cinq. The interim engine just needs the impending supersprint for completion.

GSR are making progress on the 'head for the race engine, and the short engine has arrived at nitrane towers for lightening and balancing.

Which Supersprint manifold are you using for the 1242 conversion?? I got the impression it wouldn't fit.

My 1242 plan was scuppered by the MSA, so i'm going with an 1108 with 75 MPi 'head.

The cinq sprang into life tonight, after the 'head was refitted. The GSR induction kit is on but it still awaits the supersprint. She started first time, ran up to temperature with no problems or leaks!

So.... you'll all be pleased to know I've now finally driven a cinq! I'd forgotten just how much fun superminis are. All she needs is twice the power, decent suspension and a diet. Watch this space... 8)

If supersprint only do a 1108 manifold and you're putting a 1242 head (75 MPI head) how are you getting the manifold to fit to the head? It isnt a 1108 head then or am i missing something?
