Problems with under power

I have a 700 watt sub but my amp is only 400 watt!?!?!?

What problems can i expect from this? like blowing the amp or whatever?

I just bought the new mutant HU aswell 4x50 watt

the system shud sound ok for what u have cus tbh a lot of amplifier makers "exaggerate" the power of their amplifiers :bang: but dont run the gain on ur amp above half and crank the bass up full on ur hu and run it full volume cus u can just say byebye to ur sub cus not only can u overpower a sub but u can underpower one too.........byebye voice coil.......i think i smell burning

but run that setup at a nice reasonable volume etc and it'll be fine and upgrade ur amp when u can

so if i set my bass on my HU at say 4 it should be alrite?

Would i be alrite with a 1000 watt amp or would that be the same princeipal but overpowering my sub? will s still get a good bang out of my sub as it is? i want it to be loud as funk if i want it to be but be able to turn it own as well for times when i have a headache lol

what would be the best settings to run it on for what i want? i havent set up my amp n stuff yet cuz i need to get a 12" sub box. At the mo my new sub is in a twin box with a 12" longmill sub (about 500 watts i think)

First of all max wattages mean nothing.

Personally I would sell the amp and get something else. Your Mutant sub is rated at 200W RMS, so you want an amp that produces about 250 - 300 WRMS. Something like
