problem with the bravo this mornin'

hi i havent had cars long so bear with me...

every day whenm i start my car i usually just start it by turnin the key waiitng a few seconds, then rev for about 5-10 seconds and then im off..

thsi morning when i turned the key, the engine tried to start, it chugged then switched off,, i then retried and everything was fine...
after a few revs its seemd ok

now was it prob becasue of the recent cold temps.. am i right in assuming that...

i noticed it worked the secodn time however when i got in the car my radios time had reset...?? why was that..

what can be done..

Not sure what the problem is, but revving your engine so soon after starting is not a good thing, especially in these very cold mornings.

hi lovew this forum for its fast response

so judging by those answer
and by the replies from guys with experience in bravos

the problem isnt just doen to it bveing 'cold'

what do i need to check within the battery surroundings for??

Pop to a local motor factors who should be able to check the battery for you. The cold brings out all the duff ones

Connections - just make sure both pos and neg are on tight

And make sure the connections are clean the terminals and the inside of the clamps, my ex girlfriends car had a similar prob, bought a new battery, that didnt fix it, got the rac out, was there 45min, then he checked the inside of the connectors and they were filthy, a quick clean and all was fine.

Was before i knew anything about cars. lol.

I put some copper grease on my battery post and connections so that they don`t go bad over time that helps as well

search for it alot of peopel make that mistake when typign fast

at first i thought it was his sig..
but he actually types that everytime...which is a long process in my eyese.. why nto just make a permanenet sig..

also about the connectios i did loosen them to jumpstart another car,,maybe it was becasue of that..

top up the battery

If the battery isn't a sealed battery (will have screw heads on the top if it isn't a sealed unit) then you have to top up the water level in the battery with de-ionised water which you can get from halfords etc.
