I hope someone can help me.
I have a 1.4 Bravo (98R). I started it up this morning and it sounded like a tractor, i thought it was because it was a little chilly this morning, but when i push the accelerator, it sounds very rough to say the least. Also it lacks power. Travelling in any gear above 3500 is sluggish and it stops accelerating from around 4000 rpm, so that's around 80mph in 5th, it usually goes over 110mph.
would this be a hole in the exhaust affecting this or something else? as i have had a rattly exhaust for a while now, but i haven't had any loss of performance.
Please let me know your thoughts, and thanks in advance!

i think this happened on my 1.4, think it was the lambda sensor. This malfunctioning was causing the car to run on 3 cylinders, go slow and sound awful.

Need a dignostic i think mate

yeah, sorry about that, once i clicks submit i couldn't edit it.
are lambda sensors expensive?

I'd also check that the exhaust manifold gasket is ok, if she was blowing out there she'd be noisy as hell and lose power.

Thanks for your replies
The exhaust rattles in the middle box, (like a back box but in the middle of the car).
i will take it to a garage to get ity looked at. as long as they don't keep it for too long!
