Problem with Amplifier

So, my amp has suddenly gone into protection mode..It is a mutant amp running an SPL X 15 inch subwoofer.

For some reason it appears that the remote wire is causing it, I plugged the positive wire into the remote slot on the amp and the protection light goes out.

Does that mean theres a problem with remote? I also have taken all the wires from the car to the amp, checked fuses etc. Wired it straight to the battery and the protection light still comes on.

Just been playing with the wiring, it appears that the light now turns on when the ground wire is connected, the sub starts to kick then the light comes on and cuts it out, I have connected the ground wire to where it was before and this is the first time ive had an issue

It also does this with the power wire...still confused, took the amp apart cant find any signs of damage or anything coming out. Also plugged a friend amp in and that went into protection too. It was a JBL amp.

are you sure your speaker cone voice coil hasn't broken down thus causing cutout

Tested in my friends car. Was the amp :-(
