Yeah, just cut it off, not flush though, I'd leave a little tail at the battery connector so you can wrap it with insulating tape.

I got two earth leads from hellfrauds. One bolted from battery negative with original tightening nut to wing. The other from the wing to the gearbox. Left the old lead on.
Drove it today and not a peep from power steering ?. This fix should be a sticky!!!!! Many thanks for saving me a load of wonga and hassle ????

Thats nice and cheap isnt it.. :)

Is it all you need though.. or 'bare'?

Strangely my PAS dumped again today

Food shop trip.. same as last time :(

Last time was stone cold.. 3 point turn..

But this time motor was at least warm..
coasting into carpark.. hard left dropped out

Almost certainly battery power(capacity) as its a little one ..from our 1.1 seicento .. ;)

M.D.P.
OUR old 1.8 did this too.. was the alternator output at fault...

but I dont think youve truly ruled out the battery.. or cables yet?

Just put new battery negative earth cables on. 8 quid from hellfrauds. Sorted pas out.
Can't say how grateful I am!!
This should be a sticky to save a lot of people all the heartache. Quick cheap check before diving wallet first into the pas nightmare ???????

Did the trick for one day then it rained during night and next morning dropped out twice ?
Checked under bonnet and firewall cloth shield was wet through. Scuttle drains not blocked but the bottom of the funnels are directed straight towards the shield. Is that correct?
Still think it's wiring and damp/wet issue. Also just looked under steering column and there's rust all over the brackets.
Rust inside the car????

Mark, If you still have the same problem with power steering failing when it is wet can you say why you are trying to get another torque sensor?

https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-ii/480931-steering-torque-angle-sensor-mk2b.html

After extensive investigation with no luck I took the car in for a fault check and torque sensor flagged up.
I went ahead and ordered a new column from partsworld after advice on the forum but despite putting registration and chassis number on the order they still sent what turned out to be a mk2 column which I found out after paying for it to be fitted!!
They are now saying it was my fault since I didn't ring to confirm before ordering even though I put the information on the actual order. There excuse was they don't have time to check every orders notes and they could only supply the correct column for £1400!!
DO NOT ORDER off these COWBOYS!!!!!
I Now have a brand new mk2 column which is no good to me. I'd probably flog it for £50 if you know anyone who wants it.
The torque sensor is damage/cost limitation and I'll just fix and refit the original column.

At last steering fixed (almost).
Swapped both ecu and motor from original column with new column and it works.
Only thing is its pulling to the right. When ignition is switched on the wheel turns slightly to the right.
Do I have to buy fiatecuscan and leads to calibrate it?
