ok I'm confused I thought you could really only get a super chip which was just a bhp upgrade then a mapped chip which did the same as a super chip but also allowed you to adjust and modify it as you added more bits like cams induction kit exhaust so on
but now i see you can get a Power chip can anybody please tell me what it does i emailed the place that does them on sunday and they still have not replied and i wont to know if there any good and is it worth buying it say over a super chip or a mapped chip
Also i have been to piper cross web site and i see they dont list a viper induction kit for a 1.8 16v they only list the HGT bravo would this be what i would need to buy if i wonted to fit an induction kit?
i know its a stupid question but i dont wont to waste £250 on buying something i can't use

Power/Super/etc chip are just brands. They are all near enough the same thing which is a FIXED fuel/ignition map that has been tweaked to give a bit power. They are designed for STANDARD engines, maybe with an induction kit. They are NOT for modified engines with new cams etc..

You CANNOT change the data in them.

There are piggyback units (dastek unichip is the best and only one to go for @ £400+VAT+setup) which allows you to keep the ECU unmodified. It basically fakes the signals to the ECU and makes it think the engine needs more fuel than normal. These you can change but you must NOT change them unless you have some diag equipment or preferably a rolling road. Only a few miles of running too lean and your engine is toast.

If you are feeling very flush with cash you can get replacement ECUs. Not sure about the 1.8 but 660+VAT gets you a fully programmable race spec ECU for a 1.6. You then need hours on a rolling road as they come blank. At least with the dastek you start off with it set to zero and the car will start. With a new ECU your first battle is starting. :)

As for piperx, get a universal filter and some silicone hose, either from samco or sfs.
