Hi

i just had the scare of my life!!!!
i just bought a 06' 1.4 Sports GP last month.....i have a few minor issues like
the steering wheel clicking when i turn ...
and the rear right suspension making a clunking sound when i turn or go over a speed bump.....
i plan to bring it to a garage sometime soon....
but nothing compared to what happened this evening on a dual carriageway

i was doing about 60.....and just shifted down to 4th gear.....slowing down
then suddenly i saw 2 warning lights on my dash.....the battery and the engine oil.....and i loss total power......
then i dont know if my action helped but i quickly changed to 3rd gear and the power resumes............

help!!!!!!!
any of you guys experience these problems????????????

thanks !!!!!

Get it to a dealer and ask them to check for any software updates. Having all the updates solves a good percentage of electrical/computer faults.

Worth also checking the battery is in good condition and the positive and negative clamps are held securely and are corrosion free.

i didnt buy it from a main fiat dealer.....
what should i do then? this is my first car.....
i hope its an easy solution like u said .....software upgrade and the battery
hopefully its not something serious like the pump .....

Check the battery connection first.

If you "just bought" it then go back where ever you bought it from. Most garages offer a 30 day warranty on used cars. If it is a software issue though then they need the Fiat computer system - something all Fiat garages have.

You can always give Fiat a call (free) on 00800 3428 0000
They can give some advice over the phone and tell you where a dealer is. You might have to pay a small fee to have the 3rd year warranty transferred to your name but a Fiat dealer or Fiat themselves can explain all that to you.
