A heavy duty clutch is a must if you're keeping the remap as it isAny recommendations?![]()
Never actually experienced this myself but the reason is purely theoretical:Do you know why the revs would bounce/yoyo up and down as they did then? Thought if it was the clutch the revs would just keep rising?
As the revs go higher and the engine produces LESS torque then the clutch plates start to get a firm grip on the flywheel and start to slow it down but as the engine slows then the torque goes UP again which means the clutch starts slipping again. The actual strain on the clutch assembly doesn't bear thinking about while this is going one. The clutch friction material is literally being ripped to pieces
To make the clutch slip you need 2 things:Also do you know why would only be apparent is higher gears? Assuming that more torque's required at higher speeds but took car up one of the sliproads near me (fairly good incline) in 3rd and was pulling fine up it under hard acceleration.
- Plenty of torque
- Somebody or something to stop the car moving
