Points and reaction Score

So people, I am technically and mechanically savvy but social media and forums have never been my forte. In my short time on this forum I seem to have achieved 53 points and a reaction score of 6 but I have no idea how or exactly what it means. Can someone kindly explain how this works and if I need to be doing anything because of it or to reciprocate. Thanks in advance
