Please help!!!

Hi all, I'm having some trouble with my blue & me and my iPhone! I'm happy with the blue tooth part for the phone side of things but I can't seem to find a way of playing my music through the USB it's an 08 500 and I've bought an adaptor but still no joy! Any ideas or am I just missing something?
