Is it me or do pipercross not do an iduction kit for the 1.6sx Bravo, i thought i saw some people on here with it done but cant find them cause the search engines really crap.
Ive been told by two places now that only K&N do an induction kit for that model bravo, can anyone shed any light on the subject???

Thanks!

Has anyone the answer to this or will i just have to get K&N, if so what are they like?

Thanks

k&n

het k&n any wat as it now has the gen 2 forsed air and lasts longer as it is made of a diffrent fabric and sounds lush

piperx

If you measure the diameter of the throttle body you can phone pipercross and order a universial induction kit in the right size that will work fine.

Re: piperx

Pipercross are the best Air filter by a massive massive amount.

Its also a well know fact that the K&N Gen 2's are pants.

Like Si says measure the throttle body and order a pipercross. (IS yours a vector si?) Just get the same one as what Si has got You will be impressed.

If you want a JR filter I've got one for Sale for £45 for a 1.6 Bravo. Not as good as a Pipercross but cheaper

Post if interested. Will post or meet up if you live any where bear Yorkshire.

Re: Re: piperx

Thanks for the offer Rob however ive got my heart set on pipercross.

Does this mean that everone who has the pipercross has had to use the universal one, i thought it was some sort of kit.
I am a bit unsure about universal air filters but your saying they really are good.

Si, i have no idea how to measure the throttle body, is your a 1.6sx if so then how did you order yours.

Thanks for the help people.

Re: Re: Re: piperx

Sorry steve i've got an HGT and Pipercross make a specific kit for it.

I think this is how you measure the throttle body, but I'm sure Rob can clear up anything i get wrong.
Just disconnect the piping from the airbox to the engine manifold. You need to measure the diameter of the pipe before the airflow sensor.
Do not remove the air flow sensor!!
When you speak to pipercross just ask for a universial induction kit with a hose diameter of one matching the pipe you will have measured. Then just fix on with a jubilee clip.
You could of course try asking pipercross if they'll design a kit for the 1.6, if you can prove theres some sort of market for it.

mmmmmmm, cheers for the help Si, youve just got me thinking, anyone with a 1.6 want to step forward and give a demand list to pipercross to see if theyll design a kit, ill follow everything upo and make the calls and stuff, if people just show interest im sure they will do it.

Anyone !!!!! :)

Re: Re: Pipercross no more......

Rob to the rescue!

This is an idiots guide to swopping an induction kit!!!

Look in your engine bay.

Look at the air intake right at the front the big plastic thing and start to follow where it is taking the air.

Then follow the tubing all the way up and around etc.

It will go through the airbox on the right hand side above the passenger wheel.

It will then go Left in to a big useless plastic thing (well not 100% useless). This is the swirl pot/chamber. (when you get your induction kit this will be binned)

Now finaly where the black tubing stops it will have what looks a bit like a jubilee clip holding it on to a metal cylinder which is attached to the engine. That metal cylinder is your throttle body. You have to measure the circumference of the metal part (throttle body)

That is where your filter will attach. You may have to use some of the existing tubing to make it work. I'm still too busy to sort a pic for you at the mo. But I will do it. I promise Si will probably back me up here when I say I am one of the busiest people in the world. I want some time to relax!! but there is no time

If you are still confused I'll measure my god dam throttle body for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and Si Remember the at essay mail I sent you monday?

I've pick the 2L Pinto Engine up friday with Gaz and I'm gonna order a few choice tuning products to boot when I get paid!!!!!! gonna start stripping it this weekend. 200hp here I come!

Thanks Rob, i appreciate the help despite how busy you are, if you do get chance to get some pics i would be even more grateful.

Thanks :)
