Both my front springs failed last friday, luckily failed as I was going over a cattle grid kind of thing at this car park at about 5 mph, and not on the M8 at 70 mph.

Odd they both snapped at the pig tail end at the same time. Multipla has 30,000 miles on the clock.

Obviously the newer type springs that were fitted after the recalls also fail, as they do on the late plate multipla's.

RAC picked us up as the OSF spring was rubbing against the tyre.

RAC took me to Fiat Paisley (y)( Arnold Clark ) as they were the nearest garage. Had to wait till wednesday to get multipla back, as parts needed to come to the dealer. An hour to fit each side. Expecting to pay sub £300 as its is a main dealer, but got charged £184.10 inc VAT, which I think is reasonable (y) New spring thickness looks thicker, than the ones that came out, maybe a another mod by Fiat.

That sounds like a one off never heard of two at once do u have a leg to stand on with warranty and milleage etc and getting it done for free

I know quite freakish! On the day of failure the RAC man said always more call outs for either batteries or springs when the air temperature drops to below -10 degrees C. On the day it was -6 but wind chill was a lot more colder and Multipla sitting in a very windy car park.

Yes only has 30,000 miles and just had its 5th Birthday. When do they normally fail ?
