Photoshop Challenge - 20-26/05/05

Like I said there are plenty of images of this car about for inspiration.

This is probably one of the strangest I have found.

I'm not sure I want to vote this week because I'm not expert enough! Shall we all just abstain :D

You can go and Stain whatever you like for all i care
haha.gif

Maybe i should rephrase what i originally said.
It should have said "Some people" not a "lot of people" and my appologies to those that do vote with some respect for the work :peace:

Don't get me wrong I have no respect for the work, apart from I find it all bloody clever :D

I know nothing about photoshop and I wouldn't have a clue what takes the most skill, I just vote for which I think it the best. I'm just a little worried that there won't be anything to vote for if the major players pull out:) It seems a bit unecessary - I mean if you don't want to host you can always get someone neutral to host it ;) just an idea.

something a little different from me this week. done what the rest of you usualy do and ive changed the shape of the car. RX7s are ugly piles of crap so ive made it atleast (what i think is) a bit nicer :)

.. extended the rear to make it a hatch rather than a coupe.. moved the a pilars forward a bit to shorten that oversized bonnet.. extended the front bumper and also shortened the back bumper behind the wheels.

Hosting is not a problem for me because at least then i don't have to put my chop into the poll. So that is the least of my reasons for not putting it forward for the voting.
I can understand that it may be a problem like you say, without the major players, but like i said i don't want to stop others from putting their work forward for voting.

The only thing that I find odd is why you are taking it so seriously. Sure, take the work that you do for the modding seriously, but why take the vote seriously. It doesn't matter who gets how many votes and who wins or loses. Yes, it's nice to recieve votes, because it's nice to create designs that people like, but beyond that who cares.

I know that you could equally say why bother with the vote at all, if it is so unimportant, but it's a bit of fun and enables a conclusion to each challenge and a new host to be decided, so it does at least serve a purpose. I confess to having been frustrated with the voting in the past, but that was more a question of not understanding the voters, rather than any annoyance towards them.

I'm just not sure what anyone will gain by people not submitting their mods for the vote.

Sorry Bushboy, didn't mean to overlook your post. I agree that it is not the most attractive of cars in standard form, but I have seen some that look good with aftermarket mods, which was my main incetive for choosing it. We all have different taste, after all I've felt the need to change the shape of pretty much every car ever put up for the challenge. At least it means there is diversity in the entries and there is less chance that anyone elses will look like yours. It will be interesting to see your end product.

Do you mean me? I don't think so but just in case...

I don't take it seriously, I only posted on here because to be honest I want to see a full complement of entries! It really is no odds to me. To be honest I think you all take it very seriously more so than you think, on the voting threads it's always "I don't want any votes" and "I just don't want to host" etc. All good for a laugh anyway keep it up lads and please enter your 'shops because I'm usually to lazy to look at this thread I just look at the voting one :D

Good work Serin, I'm intending to do my first full home made kit on this, but I'm having enough difficulty with the body widening at the moment, as you will see below.

This is why i don't want to be included in the voting Neo, I don't want to take it serious in any way and i prefer just to talk about what work i have done and what others are doing instead of seeing it as some form of contest.
How many times have you yourself and others said that you need to change something because your idea was used in someone elses design.
That would not come into it if the voting didn't exist as people would not be competing, just comparing and using each others work as a platform to improve.
Like this week for example, I have just come online and saw BIGLEE's chop, which as far as design is concerned is very similar to what i have been working on for 2 days, but because im not going into the vote, i don't give a monkey's ding dong. I don't feel the need to change my work as i don't feel like i'm competing in any way.
