Dear All.
The black Panda Auto on Ebay, which has illicited such a vigorous response from some Forum members is mine.
While I do not feel the need to justify my position, i do think i should have the opportunity to set the record straight. I am, however, very dissapointed that the Forum, which i thought was for like minded enthusiasts to chat and exchange ideas, has been used purely to have a dig at another member. In several instances, by frankly rude and hurtful personal comments.
From reading these comments, I have been branded a liar and a cheat, yet my detractors have not even had the common decency to view the car now or indeed ask me for more details.
I therefore feel it necessary to give all Forum members some background. By checking my Ebay feedback you will see I am approaching 600 positive feedbacks. 232 of these are for the selling of cars & motorbikes. Without exception, i have recieved superb feedback, often along the lines of 'better than described' and 'a superb vehicle & excellent seller'. I am very proud of my honesty & integrity, and go to great lengths to describe cars, often over describing any imperfections or faults, so the buyer is more than pleasantly suprised on finally viewing it.
Of these 232 vehicles, some have been from my personal collection and some have been bought purely for resale in order to fund my own car interests & hobbies. I have never hidden this fact & I NEVER buy or sell any car that i would not be personally happy driving and using as my own family transport. Indeed this Panda, until the recent snows & frost put paid to the fun, has been used with for family days out and school runs with my 3 year old twins on board. Something I would not consider if I had a shadow of a doubt about it's condition or history. Once again I am only selling it as i've spotted yet another superb Panda I would like.
I am indeed a Panda enthusiast, and to date have owned 27, from 1986 to 2007 models. It is therefore pedantic to also say i do not know what I am talking about by describing it as a MK1. So, technically it is a Mk2, but please remember in the wider population, and indeed within friends in the motor trade, this old style Panda is fairly universally known as a Mk1, and the current shape as the Mk2. Rightly or wrongly, that is simpy the case and had I described it as a Mk2, i would have upmteen messages saying 'oh no it's not etc etc etc'
The Panda in question is indeed a superb example of the breed and I have caried out a great deal of work to bring it up to it's excellent condition. Although I also take issue with some other descriptions, as it was a fantastic car to begin with.
I am all for free speech, and if it's not your cup of tea, fair enough, but in the spirit of live and let live, please don't feel the need to continue to attack my own integrity, thank you. Richard
