Hi Everyone,

This is going to be a bit ambitious for this section, as I'm about to offer you all a multiple choice of potential events! I'm expecting chaos, but maybe we'll get answers which make sense...............

Ho'kay, here goes...........

I'll be organising various stands for Summer shows, and there are some events which I think are (or will be) good for the Panda's to attend. Some of these have been mentioned before, and I had positive noises from Pandarers. (y)

I am happy to organise any of the following suggestions, and will do so under a joint Fiat Forum & Fiat Panda/Fiat Motor Club banner if need be (as Castle Combe was last year) - the main benefit of this is to ensure that there is sufficient insurance cover in place, as I am not aware of any specific cover for FF events (I know I've got £3m of cover if I do it my way).

So..........

1. Castle Combe Classic & Retro Action Day 28th June.

This is a long standing FMC event, which has included FF members in recent years (and we had a joint stand last year). Very limited spaces for this one, so if you're interested please let me know asap - I'll book this one anyway. Link at https://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/events/action_display_event.asp?BookingEventID=629

Previous year thread at https://www.fiatforum.com/events/323137-castle-combe-classic-retro-action-day.html

2. Retro Rides Gathering 31st August.

I asked about this last year - link here https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-classic/328954-pandas-prescott-hillclimb.html and had positive noises.

It's actually at Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb this year - a location I know little about, but look at last week's Top Gear for an idea! Event info at http://retroridesgathering.com/

I'd like to do this & am happy to organise. Who's up for it, and I'll apply if there's a few of us? (y)

3. Retro Show at Santa Pod 22nd June.

I love this show, but sadly it clashed with one of the Auto Italia events last year. I can find another group to go with if need be (tagged onto the No Skool Just Cool guys a couple of times :) ) but would much prefer a gang of Panda's there!! (y)

Event info at http://www.retroshow.co.uk/index.html It mentions something about pre '80's cars but that makes no sense based on earlier years (and what they don't know..... :D ), but it's meant to be minimum 10 cars - I'd need to know there were at least 6 definite and could rustle up more from the FMC etc probably.

What do you think? :) You can actually go down the drag strip for a very reasonable price, if you're brave (though it would be quite amusing to have 2 Panda's against each other maybe a 4x4 lumbering down against a 750? ).

4. Chiltern Hills 18th May.

A new location this year, but not far away from me, and a BIG favourite. Last year's thread here https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-classic/318634-pandas-chiltern-hills-rally-19th-may.html and event info at http://www.chilternhillsrally.org.uk/

I'll be organising this anyway, so just need to know who wants to go & we can sort out applications, etc (y)

5. Luton Festival of Transport 8th June.

Event info at http://www.cvpg.net/luton-festival-of-transport-2014-8th-june-2014/

Again it's one I'll be applying for anyway as the FMC has been there for years. The good thing is it's a nice show, easy to get to, and no limit on either numbers or the age of the cars. We could get a really good Panda gathering there if you're interested?

Think that's enough at the moment!! ;)

Expressions of interest for any or all of those? Let's get some proper Panda presence at some events this year! :worship: I'll put up proper event threads for anything we're actually doing, so that I don't upset any of the mods.... ;)

Cheers, Gavin.

don't forget

Brooklands Museum 'Italian Car Day' Saturday May 3rd

Stanford Hall 'Summertime Classics' Sunday June 29th

MITCAR 2014 will be on Sunday 17th AUGUST at ROCKINGHAM CASTLE

Thanks Dave - yes I knew when the AI ones were (hadn't seen the MITCAR date), but those are well advertised & attended anyway (and I'm not offering to organise those! ).

Is your Panda going to be ready for shows this year? If not, get on with it! ;)

Thanks for being organized enough to kick this off so early! :worship:

I'm probably going to be a bit more selective in the number of shows I do, this year... -- although, the homewardette permitting, I do quite like the idea of drag-racing Pippin...!

Basically, Palio, if you're stuck for numbers, and it's not too far, give me a nudge.

BTW, I quite fancy doing Malvern, this year, should I not be living on a island in the middle of Warwickshire, by then....

I'm up for these as well. Some (like Retro Rides) I may betray the cause and go to in the Saab if it's working by then, but I'll be there in something old and suspicious either way :)

Santa Pod in the Panda? Abso-bloody-lutely!

Ok, well starting logically at number 3 above  , here's the event thread for Retro Show at Santa Pod.

This is one I'd really like to try Pandawise, so anyone interested please add yourself to the attendee list. (y)

I'll be really disappointed if I'm the only Panda there, and have to drag race my Sisley (or 45CL maybe........ ;) ) against some 500bhp monster.......... (y)

Since Char's throttle jams itself all the way open at the moment I might have some great drag racing potential ;)

 Sign yourself up then (y)

All things are relative of course, so a 750 has relatively great drag racing potential really. Char would probably beat a 4x4 though - unless you're talking 0-20 in 4wd mode, which is a sight to behold & quite a shock to the idiot you're (definitely not for legal reasons) racing away from the lights! *

* (if the gearbox holds - I've only done it twice, but it's great, sort of like launch control!! :D ).

Could take all the passenger seats out for a much bigger weight advantage too. Unfortunately as sometimes surprisingly quick she can be to 30 she hasn't got a lot of acceleration past that...
Then again for the last 2 months I've been driving something with exactly 3 times the power and a 0-60 less than half of Char's....

Number 1 (Castle Combe) event now listed here

We are going to be even more limited this year - max 10 cars (12 last year), so please sign up asap.

VmanC homeward scout and @ anyoneelseI've forgotten........... (y)

And yes, it's the day before Stanford Hall - I'll be doing both, which is a lot of mileage in Panda's, but a lot of fun. I might even be tempted to take Panto! onto the track if it's quiet........ :)
