so what is the list price of the TA you're after..??,
as others have aim for 15/ 20 % off, with a little "rounding" obviously..
no cars are selling that well at the minute.. they will be keen to get a sale before Jan.(y)

allow several hours for all the negotiations.. seems like a long time.. but I'm sure your time at @£600 an hour will be worth it..!!;)

look to see what other FIAT dealers are pegging their "ex-demo's" at,
you should get within £1000 of that..!!:D

£10,795 for the base white in Easy trim but there's a standard £1000 manufacturers discount to come off that. So all the dealer is giving really is £295 :( I'm sure they can do better than that.
I'll be timing the order to get a 14 plate. I know it's all a load of garbage but for the sake of another two weeks I'm prepared to wait :)

Cheers Tom

nothing stopping you negotiating HARD before Xmas .. for registration / delivery in the new year..!!:)

apparently Monday's around 11 am is the best time to bargain..;)

RANDOM..!! eh..??

looked like a link..??

anyway the 14 reg's don't start until 1st MARCH , BUT you will get a 2014 registered 63 plate ;)

8 weeks lead time so if I order 4th Jan onwards my delivery date would be 1st March. The salesman did say I could order anytime and still have the 14 plate though, I presume that's the pre reg thing? Or is that only for cars that are in the showroom?

Cheers Tom

In working tomorrow, Sat, Sun and Monday. 12 hour shifts I'm afraid :(
Daughter wants the car on Tuesday but I might keep it and pop to the dealer and have a little chat with him, smiling nicely (y)

Just found a new white Easy TwinAir on the road for £8795 from FiatSupaSaver.com. I'll save that till the end and watch his face ;)

Cheers Tom

According to the Fiat brochure (freshly downloaded from the UK website), the colours available are:

Panda colours - brochure download 19Dec2013.jpg

Sunset Red and Sweet Dreams Turquoise are my favourites, but I'm biassed - mine's Sunset Red.

Right, not long back from my test drive.

Fiat 500 TwinAir as they didn't have a Panda I could try. 14.000 miles on the clock. I covered 14.5 miles ( mix of around town and motorway, eco button on for the last 5 miles in town ), with an average mpg of 47.4. I neither ragged it to see how much fun it could be or drove like a nun, just my " normal " drive, whatever that may be.
So if that un-scientific little spin gave me 47mpg then I'm thinking if I'd not had a little blast on the motorway that I could have got nearer to 50. That figure, I would be very happy with :)
Out of curiosity I had a go of a 1.2 while I was there. I pushed the 1.2 more than the TwinAir to see if it had the oomph that I would require on my trips up to visit family in the Lakes. Unfortunately, for me, it didn't. It felt out of breath most of the time.

So now all I need to do is decide what colour I want my new TwinAir to be. The only Panda colours I've seen are the white, black and cancan red. Don't want those so I'm torn between the beige or the brown. The brown is in the brochure but not on the on-line configurator thing
Will probably place an order to tie in with the new reg at the start of March as it'll only mean waiting another 7-10 days on top of the 8 week lead time.

Does anybody have a few pictures of those two colours on the car that I could have a look at?

Cheers Tom

It's good that you were able to test a TwinAir with some miles under it - they're so much better when they've done some miles.

Our 500 TwinAir is doing 46-47 on 18,000 miles.

Unfortunately I can confirm that Cosy Brown has indeed been closed for ordering. Happened about 6 weeks ago. Venetian Blue has replaced it. Personally I preferred the brown but I've seen none at all on the roads so I can kinda see why Fiat pulled the plug.

The nicest colours in the metal are Sweet Dreams Turquoise, Sunset Red (suits Lounge trim best), Mediteranean Blue (only on Lounge trim) and Sicilian Orange (4x4/Trekking only). Most orders I've placed for customers have been for white, black & Cancan Red, but I agree with you - I prefer something that's a bit different. Infactuation Purple looks good (ordered a couple of them), but it's obviously more of a lady's colour!

If you can stretch to a Lounge trim i'd do that and get the Mediteranean Blue (not available on Easy) but if not have a look for a Sweet Dreams Turquoise one - this colour actually suits the Easy model better for some reason.

A fresh factory order ordered this week would probably arrive mid-March but if the dealer can catch one that's already been ordered but 'variable' (not yet fixed for production) then you could cut the order time to 8-9 weeks.

Mental wee motor

(Edit - Had it for a month and still love it.)

Just got the Panda 4x4 TA and love the mental wee turbo - it thrives on being floored and spirited zapping around the country roads - to hell with monitoring the fuel economy, I'm just going to enjoy the crazy motorcycle-like sound and surprising performance. I suppose it's all relative, as my previous car was a Panda My Life, so I'm loving the extra zip of the TA. Might be a bit different if I'd been used to a performance car though, but I'm loving it and so does my wife. The extra 8 BHP doesn't sound like a lot, but it's more than just a mere 10% (ish) power increase, it's a whole different level of performance, due to the turbo I guess? I would recommend this unreservedly for country dwellers.

Tom, the Lounge also gives your the plastic door protection mouldings, colour coded wing mirrors and door handles.

Even though none of these are essential, they transform the look of the car entirely. Probably will help come resale too.
