I've been away from the forum for awhile so hope this has not been raised before.
Had 1st 12 month service today and was told that I would need to return to have a new solenoid fitted. Apparently this is an upgrade to replace the replacement that was fitted when the original failed last year.
Otherwise the car has been troublefree and generally a brilliant all rounder.
I believe some contributors to the forum think I have businee connections to FIAT but alas I have not.
Since collecting tne Cross a year ago it has average 57.5 mpg on roads, tracks and through all weather conditions. Note - The car is driven mainly in rural Aberdeenshire with two adults aboard. On 8 days of the year the car will be driven at least 370 miles in the day carrying 2 people plus luggage.
All very boring no doubt but true.

That sounds a bit of a pain, a replacement required for a replacement.
My first service on the Cross is not until Oct, so I'll ask about this if they don't mention it.

Yes a bit of a pain as its about 70 miles to dealer in Aberdeen and back, but it's a nice drive along the Don valley.
Apparently the solenoid has been upgraded, my guess is the first replacement like the original might not be completely weatherproof.
As regards the service, Arnold Clark Fiat did a 1st class job. The car was even cleaned before it was returned within 2 hrs.
The 2 yr. 'free service' was included in the purchase deal.
