I have a 2009 Verde Green / Magnolia Panda Cross.

The door mouldings and wheel arches are a fairly striking colour. Been thinking about changing the arch / door moulding colour for a while now and though what could be easier or cheaper than a couple of metres of Anthracite grey wrap.

The colour match was really spot on and matches the rear and front lights / bumper.

Attempted the front near side wing and after an hour I gave up. This stuff is seriously tricky to get 'just right'

A job best left to the professionals I think, if it was a flat panel then I'm sure I could do it but the mouldings have more of a three dimensional shape.

To get it out of my system I might have to bite the bullet and get it done properly.

I can imagine it's really difficult to do. On the basis I'm useless at putting screen protectors on phones, I'd never even attempt to wrap any part of a car haha :p.

Youthful enthusiasm usually prevents you from attempting things you know you cannot do! It's age that generally teaches you your capabilities. My school books used to have to be covered and always ended up with air bubbled.

I like the concept of the wrapping, but yeah, a roof or a bonnet maybe. Anything else........I'd want 2 acres of wrap for free to be confident of eventually getting it right.

Seen a few Cross models with the Magnolia painted black/green. Maybe it was paint, maybe it was wrap. Not sure.

Here is a photoshop of what I was trying to achieve, I like the idea of wrapping as its not a permanent change. (y) Still got some left to play with so may watch a few more YouTube vids and give it another go. (Oh and yes, that is my car on the back of a low loader but that's another story..)

I must admit that I have never heard of Plastidip - thanks you now have me googling it :)

Not sure if I dreamed it but Demi had his whole car plastic sprayed Matt black (or was it pearl white). It was done at a proper shop mind you.

I imagine it comes in cans. I also imagine it costs a bomb.

Yeah he did, it was matte black, IIRC.

You're right, it does come in spray cans. It's not exactly cheap, but it's easy enough to do yourself, so almost certainly cheaper than paying somewhere to professionally wrap your car (or part thereof).
