Thats impressive, surely to get that amount to a gallon it must be the 1.3 multijet, as we all know the twinair isn't the best on fuel. My 1.2 FIRE doesn't do anywhere near that amount & I thought that was quite good on petrol although it has dropped a bit since changing the tyres from the original Goodyear Duragrips to Avon ZT7 tyres in March.

It is indeed the 1.3 Multijet. It's my aunties and the long term displayed average us 53.3mpg (her typical journeys are short runs to the shops etc - very much not ideal for a diesel!) However the conditions for this must have been really good. Traffic all the way and speed between 30 and 60.
I was in my S-Max 1.8tdci and even mine said 69+ mpg on the journey! (Although the computer is the Ford is way out, probably 55-59 in reality which is still very goof for such a vehicle.

The 10 plate is my mams, 1.1 Active Eco. Sweet little engine. Slow but super smooth at any revs.

I would have expected an mpg drop for short journeys, but that sounds surprisingly low for a Multijet? Although that long journey mpg must have been rather satisfying:)

My 1.2 Dynamic (on 155/80 R13 tyres) shows 55mpg average on the computer. Most of our journeys are under 5 miles on country lanes.

Brim to brim tests consistently indicated our computer shows about 10% better than we're actually getting - an average of 50mpg.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed to see that figure as the long term (over 6,000 miles since reset) So i reset trip B to see what would happen on this journey. It must have just been right for mpg. I've no doubt if we were doing 60-70mph all the way it wouldn't have been as good.

Nice little thing. The engine is quite loud from the outside and when driving at low speeds but it seems to settle down after a while and isn't really noticeable at higher speeds. Nice grunty thing, plenty of go.
Just wish the seat would go a bit lower, felt like I was sitting too high, I know it's a thing though.

Well I'm sure the MJ appreciated a good longish run:)

Aye, the Panda's high seating position took me a while to get used to as well! I'm more used to dropping down into my cars. I discovered all kinds of new exciting views above the hedgerows I'd never seen before!

Took me longer to get used to the strange bar across the seat back digging in to my lower back. I've ended up with the seat much more upright than I'm used to.

Still, I've grown accustomed to the seating position now so I don't really notice it any more. It's a comfy little thing once you're used to it.

I don't know if I've seen a 169 & 319 Panda side-by-side before. Hadn't realised how much bigger the 319 looks in comparison! All things are relative I suppose...

Yes, the newer one does look quite a bit bigger but i think it's emphasised a bit more in this case a the Trekking sits a bit higher, so makes it look bigger anyway.

Yeah, i had a 100HP 5 years ago for a year, got used to the driving position although i think the seats in the 100 did go a bit lower (although not quite low enough for me but not too bad - miss that car a lot! It was...an event!)

Yeah, the long run will have done the MJ good. We really should give it more long runs as i'm sure it probably doesnt like the short runs too much.

My mam has had her Active Eco for years now, it's a sweet little thing. Finger crossed it keeps giving more good service.

I think a long run works wonders on the MJ.

I'm currently in Spain, and went 7 hours non stop at one point..... probably averaging 65-70mph all on motorways.

The engine is now running smoother and quieter than ever (done 140k miles).

I think the long runs keep the engine and exhaust at a high temp, which helps burn off all the rubbish that accumulates during its start stop driving.

I've done the same trip for the last 3 years (actually drove to Morocco one year), and it's never missed a beat.

65.8mpg displayed by the Trekking MJ on my 8 mile commute this morning, although that was a clear run with no traffic. Pretty good indeed!
