Just got back online and thought I'd pop in and say hi!

Steve, if I thought the car was that bad, I'd have driven it down to clearways and given it a final trip to Valhalla! I must have a quiet word with the bloke who supposedly sorted out the rust on the car, in fact, I'll pack my baseball bat in the van now! Mind you, the car sat idle in the driveway for over a year so I dare say that didn't help either.

Anyway, my mum'll be pleased that Lucy (for that is what the car was known as) is ready to go again, she was a bit miffed at it being sold, but it would have lain there until it fell to pieces!(n)

BTW there's a clean looking Panda lying in Ballygowan, if you take the road to saintfield, it's in the first or second house past the Ravara road, I don't think it ever moves, got to be worth a look.

Right, I'm off, before I'm thrown out since I drive a R*****t now!:p

Seriously Steve, if I had have known it was that bad, I would have just told you to take it away for nowt.I didn't pay the guy who did the work, it was a "favour" for my boss, funny enough, I think he's went bust now!:p

The Suzuki went "clunk" and stopped! The only engine I could find was a 1300 and that would have needed major mods to make fit, so I put it up for sale and my cousin bought it, then he couldn't find an engine and started gurning so I let him have his money back:bang: :bang:

I eventually found out about an engine and the guy wanted £250, after I had picked myself up off the floor and stopped laughing hysterically, I told him he could stick his engine up his..............

I'd love to put a FIRE into it, I have the odd feeling it would be brilliant, the original F10 zook motor is a steaming pile of poo!

OK, so I now have Splutter back following a 6 month holiday for him at Jim's house. :)

So, he's still in good condition, no surprise there as Jim looks after his cars.

The doors I "repaired" are showing signs of rust again already, so I'll need to get those sorted. Stuart's welding has held up, again, no surprise there.

A couple of jobs are planned, new engine mount rubbers, the seats with the headrests are going back in when I get them off Jim and another coats of underseal underneath before they start salting the roads.

Jim, any chance of a recap on what you did to the car while you had it?

Erm...

Oil and filter change, new boot on the gearbox driveshaft and new oil, new rad fan. Wheels and tires off the selecta/sylvia (bit of a mix between your 750 and Lloyds one that you lent to that nurse)

I have a drivers side hinge cover but no passenger side. (get an antenna one maybe from Vincent before he leaves?) The radio wires should be up in the back of the dash as I took the whole dash out to tidy it up and fit some new bulbs into the speedo. Seats are at my dads, I'll get them this weekend.

The rear trim peice was cracked by someone when it was taken off for welding and I've glued it up and put strengther in the back of it but then put it somewhere safe till I got a chance to fit it...
