Should i simply order from the FIAT or are there better sources who offer better prices?

Thanks is advance(y)

I'd try your dealer. I think with all the messing around you've had, they could throw in the mats and pillar badges for free.

I put chunky rubber michelin mats in my car £15 Costco
halfords do them
The fronts fit great, I need to trim the rears, but they are ok as is.

The tomtom unit, eBay is good, £220??
If you go for a used one remember that you will have to pay to update the maps, and if you wanted the live services they are £45 a year once the free 1st year expires.

Getting a my fiat card will give you 10% off your local dealer too.

Update on my Trekking is that is is built but probably won't get over to UK until about 15th June which is disappointing :(

Hi John - well the good news is that it is built!

Whats surprising me is that it can take a while from arrival in the UK to the dealer taking delivery - then I guess they have to remove the plastic and checks its all good to go etc.

Anyhow, count yourself quite lucky that you are not that far of getting one of the best new cars available in the UK (y)

I went for it because it will fully integrate with the car - steering wheel controls, phone, sounds etc. I don't think the off the shelf TomTom will do. Its a bit pricey, but I did get 15% from my dealer :)

Hi triumph7 - how much did that work out at after the 15% discount?

I've sent my dealer an email asking him if they will match the 15% you guys seem to be getting. Lets see if he bites!

My car is expected to go to status 60 tomorrow :worship:

It's here!

That fresh underside will be rustproofed in a short time. Looks a lot more complicated (to me: more rust traps)than my old Panda.

Love the TA! The revcounter must be off by 4000! :D

I like the colour of your new car and like me you crawled under your car to take some pics ,its quit easy to lie under the panda 4x4 as its higer off the ground hope you have fun in it and coming from Norway should be good for the winter as you get a lot of snow ,I and some of my family went to Oslo for new year in 2005 for 4 days snow was thick so it was fun being there

Similar colour to mine (which is Cancan Red) I'll take a couple of pics of my
Trekking from the same angles, would be interesting to compare with the 4x4

That underside view clearly shows what the extra money buys :D

There's a nice new Panda 4x4 in my drive now

I've driven it home from the dealer and that's about it as the day has been too busy even to look at it and try out the various bells and whistles.

This is the first one Westover Salisbury have delivered with the slidey-foldy seats as well.

The only problem on collection was the 0% finance offer had lapsed. It took an hour involving three members of staff (one on the phone) to get it properly reinstated - including removing the £285 option to purchase fee. That latter one I had to be quite firm on, but to their credit they were true to their original offer.

The Mediterranean blue is a lovely colour, I'm pleased I chose it. It quite dark so gives the car a sort of up market feel.

One my short drive home all I only really noted a couple of things:

1. The change up indicator flashes on much sooner than I'd have considered changing up, so you end up in 6th at quite low speeds. That surprised me, but the engine seems to cope, so I guess FIAT knew what they were doing!
2. The leather covered wheel is nicer to hold than the plastic one on the test car, although its not really the softest leather I've ever felt.

Hopefully I'll get some pics up tomorrow :)

Oh, and a 3rd thing:

The Panda has a voice!

The car talked to me as I'd paired my phone with the blue-tooth connection.

How cool is that?!!!

Re: 1. After a few hundred miles you'll find the low-end torque will improve
to the point where you can change up when it says :) There's a fairly strong
vibratory phase around peak torque at 1900rpm but I just drive through it!

2. Agreed, my Mito's wheel was nicer, but the Fiat leather option's still a big
improvement on the standard offering :yum:

I'm now up to 700+ miles in 10 days :D I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too!

Here's a few pics :)

With the rear seats slid right back and the driver's seat where I need it to be, there is enough room for my teenage sons (y). That was exactly what I was hoping to find - thank you FIAT!

Re the interior, when you choose Mediterranean Blue, I don't think you get to choose the interior colour at all, so I was a bit worried what it was going to be like. The dealer had no samples or large size photos, so FIAT is expecting a lot on faith from its customers... However I think the look is modern and fresh with a well chosen combination of tones and textures. It would appear that FIAT have given a lot more thought and attention to this aspect of the car compared to the Mk3, which could feel a bit utilitarian at times (not a bad thing, in my view), especially with the older lighter grey dash.

Enjoy the pics and sorry they are not that great ;)
