If you have a fancy phone download Ciao Fiat Mobile. This enables you to download the owners manual which now includes all the 4x4 bits, heated seats (look at the front seat bit) and screen (in the climate section). (y)

Hey that's great. I've done that. I wondered where the heated seat control fitted in. It also has CBC mentioned. The electric heated windscreen is shared with the rear heated window I can see. Which makes sense.

:)

Cheers for that (y)

The city brake instructions in the 'display' section are in Italian :ROFLMAO:

For owners of CBC equipped Pandas - forget Autglass!

"If the windscreen must be replaced due to scratches, chipping or breakage, contact exclusively a Fiat Dealership. Do not replace the windscreen on your own, risk of malfunction! It is advisable to replace the windscreen if it is damaged in the laser sensor area."

...and, can you even imagine trying to change the windscreen yourself ?? :D

That'll probably be rubbish - You read the section about any minor damage / dents to front end bodywork needing Fiat only attention due to the airbag system

Autoglass will soon be able to tell you if it's something they can or can't do, along with your insurance company in the event of a screen replacement / repair.

Anyone able to post pics of these radar / laser units out of interest

There's a diagram showing it in the "laser" part of the owners manual. I can't see how to copy it via the phone though, so can't post it here. Looks like a unit above the rear view mirror with viewing "holes" through the darkened strip at the top. Apart from being delicate to replace it doesn't strike me as needing a Fiat dealer to mess it up!

I tend to agree. Autoglass would be more than capable of messing it up on their own without any help from FIAT ;)

It a similar sort of thing to those pads behind the rear view mirror on cars with auto headlights and wipers

Managed to find this via the Fiat website - they don't want you to find useful info do they??!!

Anyway the PDF shows the pic from the owners manual. (y)

The dealer called today to say there had been some sort of problem at the factory involving the 4x4s and they have had to re process the order, so now my wait time it back to 10 weeks.

Has anyone else heard about this?

I've not heard much off my dealer. I ordered just before Christmas and it's already been put back from a week 7 build (or was it 8?) to week 13.

I half expect it's my fault for selecting city brake control, but if they put it back another ten weeks I may just cancel it for now and stick with my cheap 3 year old panda which is great now the squeaky fan has been fixed thanks to this forum.

according to the pdf catalogue, the detatchable tow bar is not available until september. still waiting to hear from the dealer as i do not want a fixed one as they are hideous!

No, weird how my dealer has delivered 3 to customers already.
My particular car is in transit to the UK. Ordered jan 7th.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is, what your dealer has told you is rubbish.

That is what I suspected, they do seem to be particularly flaky but were the only one around who had a TA to test drive. I guess they didn't process the order properly the first time round.

Exactly what I thought when I read AtheM's first post. Fault at the factory means that the order needs to be reprocessed? Not sure about that...

Just hope that everyone who has ordered one gets it delivered as on time as possible. Would be a real shame for all involved if people have to cancel orders (although based on what philboo said, I wouldn't be at all critical of that decision).

Will you ever be brave enough to test it works?

I suppose you could drive towards an upturned paddling pool, that might work? :D

I have this option as standard on my 2010 Volvo XC60. When I collected it from the dealers, they have a special set of inflatable barriers to demonstrate and allow you to do the same in your new car. I must admit that it is very unnerving. I have never used it in a real life 'on-road' situation yet!

If they had real confidence in the product they should have just aimed you at the wall. :D

Seriously though, I would like to try the inflatable barrier test. I bet your heart is in your mouth!
