Another nice thing to do with paint:-

Chris I do like the painted engine cover, did you use high temperature paint or very high temperature paint? Or something else?

Nope just normal car paint . Use plastic primer then normal car paint then laquer to seal it. It doen't get hot enough to do any damage to the paint .

Thats partly what I thought, It's all in the garage somewhere anyway.

Somebody once suggested to me that I should paint the Italian flag across the three downward strips on the cover then the multijet writing in red.

Yours looks good I think richC also has it done?

Im not sure I think he asked me about mine not sure if he did it. By the way I used a Yellow Touch up paint pen to do the writting, worked a treat

I think it's a nice touch,

modern engines seem to be covered in plastic these days, I remember my fathers new golfs engine bay being one large plastic trim

Yeah VW are notorious for it :yuck:. One thing I will say my m8's got a golf with 140k on it and it looks like new in the engine bay . Its got plastic on top plastic on the sides and a plastic under tray .

Main point is that they're the only red bits on the car apart from the red B on the Bravo badge

hey, thanks for all the replies, i got my GPS today, i love it! Ihave to say though, when i picked it up i was shocked to find it has rear drums and not discs all round. is this normal???????

it is dependant on your model the 1.2 comes with drums.

Drums on th eback doesn't sound right. I have a 1.9 eleganza with discs all round, black car with red callipers and they look good.
