Hi all.
I really need your help.
My ducato 250 3.0 has a P1255 error and can’t clear it.
Description says “ECU receiving high signal” but I don’t know what that signal is.
Engine runs however rpm stuck when I put on gas.
This happened before I started full overhaul and happened again after completing.
I’m thinking somewhere on engine harnesses is bad.
Please give me any clue you have.
I can follow up with more details as discussion goes on.

Hello,

What was the error code reader you've used? a generic one, or MES?

x250s are known for electrical issues due to water ingress into the engine bay. Earth points and cables also like to rust and rot on the inside. The problem is widely described in all forums. Also here. Try looking for those two keywords on the forum.

Hi
Thank you for the info.
I’m using MES. Im checking the lines one by one with multimeter.
But unless I know what signal loss is kicking the P1255, I have no idea where to check.

my engine stops responding to gas above 50 degrees engine temperature which receives signal from coolant temp sensor on thermostat.
By Looking into diagrams, I can’t explain that. But seems like because the fans are not kicking in.

Errors I have are

Differential pressure sensor signal low
Engine cooling fan control 1,2 no signal
Oil level sensor signal low
P1255

I’m working on those one by one.

Any ideas???

Have you checked all the plugs of the modules / sensors in the engine bay?
Thanks. I thoroughly checked them all. They were not the problems.
I ended up with finding what is causing P1255.
It’s because the last DPF regeneration was not completed properly…..something….not sure completely. Anyway the code is regarding DPF, even MES explanation says signal is too high.
So I tried regeneration again and it goes away.
Still not sure what’s the appropriate procedure on regenerations. Someone has P1250 and it never goes away.
Thinking about ECU bug.

Diesels...

Good you solved it!
Thanks a lot.
Diesel plus importing to Japan… the worst combinationLol
Japanese car inspection system is hell.

So anyway, this car never goes without errors.
P1255 is still makes me nervous. If it appears after about a month of test ride, it’s definitely a ECU problem. Or I have to ask FIAT what to do.

Maybe I will kick off a discussion threat sometime.
