Hey guys. I have had my 08 panda 1.1 active for nearly a year now and starting to get to the end of my tether with it.

Intermittent fault keeps appearing which shows p0202 injector circuit/cylinder open.

What I've done so far is had the coil packs replaced, got some snake oil down it and been using super unleaded. I am now beginning to think it is an electrical fault.

The car is running really rough at the moment, seems to be misfiring and almost jerky. Actually getting to the point where I am scared to drive it.

I really need some help with this otherwise I'll be getting shot of it for good.

There has been several reports of a wiring harness fault from the ECU that seems only to effect the Active models.
Codes vary, but the common problem is misfires.

post 25 here

There's also some entertaining reading here

I hear some dealers are aware of the problem and some aren't.

But before condemning the wiring, I guess it would be useful to move the offending injector (cylinder 2) to another postion and see if the fault moves with that particular injector (meaning it's the injector) or continues to flag the issue in the same postion (meaning wiring).

Hi,
I feel your pain..,:)

we've got a perfect '04, and a naughty little '07:p

have you had the injector wiring off, inspected and cleaned..??,
electrical cleaner in the plug seems to fix ours - until it rains..,

Morning. I’ve had this issue for a while.
I changed the plugs a few weeks back and that didn’t help. I changed one coil this weekend but I’m a novice and no idea if I changed the correct one. I changed the one where the leads go to the left of the engine as you look at it (was told this was correct as it’s closer to camber). Have I changed the correct coil as first off it started idling better then within 10 miles it’s back to how it was. Thanks in advance.

P0202

FUEL INJECTOR 2 CIRCUIT OPEN

Nothing to do with the ignition, coils or leads

There's a problem with the wiring to or from the injector on cylinder 2

Or

Injector 2 is open circuit

Do you have a multimeter
Do you have a scantool/code reader

Year
Engine

Is the engine light on all the time
Is the engine down on power

Hi thanks for the reply.
1.1 eco 09 with 50k
The engine light is intermittent and it’s juddering but not all the time.
I have bought an OBD but don’t have a multi meter.

Thanks

And the error code is P02020 is that the only one listed

Being intermittent it's more likely to be the wiring than a faulty injector

So one of these two wires is likely

Best guess would be the power due to a bad joint red circle

But without a multimeter it's hard to progress

Wiggling the wires too roughly will eventually lead to permanent damage at the ECU plug

You can try cable tying the ECU plug down, you might have to join a few cable ties together, it sometimes helps

Thanks
It’s the o Lottie error code
I’ll see if I can borrow a multimeter on the weekend and look at wires thank you

I haven’t had a chance to look yet but a question occurred to me. Whereabouts id the wiring I’m looking for in the engine bay? Thanks

As a start

Each of the 4 injectors have two wires going to them

One of the pair pair of wires will be the same colour normally brown and red

Disconnect the second injector from the left if you are looking at the engine put a pin down the brown and red contact the other probe on battery negative

Ignition on it should be close to battery voltage

Gently move the harness see if the voltage drops
