I'm getting the error codes P0105 and sometimes P1121.

The car has been fully repaired 2 months ago and an ECU has been changed a year ago. During the driving the car acts ok and then all of the sudden it looses force/strength and then it does not react when the pedal for gas is pressed. After a few minutes of pause (I turn off and turn on the car) the car reacts to gas but an error lamp of the motor gets turned on, on a dash with a message „engine fault“. After that the vehicle is possible to drive but I can also feel that the power is much smaller and reduced and from time to time the car turns off even when the cluch pedal is pushed (for ex. On the traffic light or during the turning).

The last time I drove the car I run over the bump and "engine fault" comes out instantly folloving with the other problems I talked about. I though that some bad connection is problem and that the ECU receiving the wrong info from some sensors?!

When I delete the errors by using hand OBDII scanner-a the car is ok for a while but the problems come out again (before that period was after few days ... but now that period is after few hours)

Do you have any idea what the problem should be and how to find it?:worship:

I think that the throtle body should be the problem or maybe a MAP sensor but I've no idea how to check those. Also, can you guide me how to find MAP sensor and all other relevant sensors?
:worship:
thanks in advance

P1121 relates to the throttle potentiometer (its the part that sends the throttles postion back to the ecu).

Might be that the ECU needs the update for the throttle body. Where did your new ECU come from?

One and a half year ago I took the car to authorized Fiat dealer and they told me that I need a new ECU... They changed the ECU and everything was just fine for a year until the problems started to come up.

How that ECU update can be done? Can I check if it is the problem or something else?

thanks

Garages often replace an ECU when the real problem is just a contact problem with the ECU. Since a new ECU has nice new shiny contacts then it tends to solve the problem (at least for a while)

I'd still check out the Guides on throttle potentiometer problems and how to clean it.

Thanks for an advice. Where I can find the guide on how to clean throttle potentiometer? I tried in the Stilo guide section but it's not there.

An update on my problem >>> Last night the car started to switch off constantly. I switch on the car and pushed the gas pedal all the way down but nothing happened.... after few seconds the car switched off. I cleaned the error codes but the errors come out again and again. I parked the car and this morning I tried to start engine ... and everything was just fine !!!!:confused: I really do not understand what is going on and how the problems comes in and out just like that?

Is there a way to check the connection between ECU and throttle body?

thanks

Ok I few more questions:

- Where the EGR valve is located?
- Where the throttle potentiometer is located and how to clean it?

thanks

EGR and throttle potentiometer?

Hi all,

- Where the EGR valve is located?
- Where the throttle potentiometer is located and how to clean it?
- Where the MAF sensor has been located?
:worship::worship::worship:

thank you

Re: EGR and throttle potentiometer?

EGR is in my photo gallery.

MAF should easily be found with a Search

I don't know about the throttle potentiometer which probably means it doesn't go wrong often :chin:

Didn't realize you had a JTD

throttle potentiometer is only likely to be a problem on petrols

EDIT: please don't start new threads unless the first is resolved - now merged

No I dont have a JTD, I have a petrol 1.6 16v.

that's probably my problem.

Sorry about that ... I just wanted to get quicker answers because I'm going to holiday next week and I desperately need to fix the car until that point.

I really did the search but it was unsuccessfully. I can't find the location of MAF/MAP sensor and I can't even find your photo gallery  Please give me the link or something ... I really need a help.

thank you
