Hi all.
i cant find any post about this but my gf cinq has just overhead big time.
it when all the way to the 130c. there was no water in the bottle and there is a leak on the therostat. i have put some water in her and waited in till the fan come on but it didnt come on when it got to 90c.

Any reason y. would it be THE FAN SWITCH.
where is the fan switch??

well you havent looked very hard if you cant find posts on overheating cento's.
theres a switch in the radiator housing for the fan.you will see the wires going into it

The fan switch is on the right hand side of the rad as you look at the front of the car. The fuse could have blown or the fan switch could be dead.

Remove the wires from the fan switch and short them out with a paperclip. Its important to use a paperclip as you will identify any seizure of the fan bearings by the clip glowing.

If the fan turns without any glowing from t' paperclip, then its the switch that failed.

No glow and no fan, check the fuse.

Not wishing to start an arguement but I think he was refereing to the 93 threads under Cinq/sei technical relating to overheating when the search facility is used.
