Technical Outer CV Boot replacement>>>

Hi peeps....

how do you change the outer CV boots?

- Have the hubs off to change the ball joint rubber covers already, but how do the CV joints separate? Could not see any cir-clip or mechanism to stop the outer CV joint coming off. Are they held in place by friction on the spline, so you just knock it off with a hammer & wooden block?

Please advise halfway through the job right now...

There is a circlip. It is slightly below the face of the exposed CV joint.

Except on turbo models that use a 'jump ring' design that is a right royal pain in the backside to deal with. Especially when they pop out the outer cv joint at 3am in the morning. Don't ask me how I know... :bang:
