Dear Sirs,
I am writing to inform you that on this occasion your 'best price' quote was unable to meet my expectations and thus I have taken my business elsewhere for the forthcoming year on this policy.
This is due to a number of reasons. Normally I wouldn't go to the efforts to make you aware of the reasons, but as they have realistically annoyed me I feel compelled to state them.
1. The initial quotation of £456.19 was even at first glance high. Having had done a quick search on comparison websites ie. Comparethemarket, gocompare, etc. this initial quotation was evident to be highly unrealistic and insulting. It's not like I'm a new customer, so a level of continuity of good pricing and loyalty would have gone a long way.
2. Having had my 'cage' effectively rattled, I spoke to someone who at first seemed a little 'put out' that I was unhappy with my quote. After our discussion with regards to the pricing it was lowered to £337? (can't remember exact value) which as an initial quotation would have been better. My issue with this is I left the conversation feeling like I had been an irritant.
3. When a bank (Santander - which lets face it, is a bank and has nothing as such to do with vehicles) comes in with a cheaper price than your initial quotation, this to me raises some serious concerns as to your approach on renewals.
I have since made enquiries elsewhere and have had your price beaten by some margin. On principle and to make a point to yourselves (albeit a small one), I have accepted this quote.
Currently I have my 2nd car insured through yourselves and I have no issues here but naturally when the policy on it arises for renewal, I shall have to factor my recent experiences into whether I continue any business with yourselves. This to me is a shame as I consider myself loyal and would rather maintain existing business relationships, rather than seek new ones.
Yours sincerely,
blah.
Won't make one iota to anything but you know when you can't just sit back and take it? Well that was me.
To name and shame, the email was sent to Adrian Flux whilst the 'winning' broker was Chris Knott.
With a little more thought I might have actually got my grammar a little bit better, but I think it ultimately gets my point of view over
